In the Fall of 2006, amongst a diverse group of students from India that joined UIUC, came five 'young' gentlemen from different parts of the country to pursue doctoral studies in their respective fields. It was almost a year later when, at an informal social gathering, they discovered a mutual passion for music and Anubhooti was born!
Anubhooti primarily plays Indian music – both in traditional as well as modern form. Through our music, we aspire to represent the culture of the Indian sub-continent. The band comprises 5 musicians, playing different musical instruments. With traditional Indian instruments like the violin and tabla, Anubhooti’s music is representative of the Indian Classical music. Combining these with traditional western instruments like the acoustic guitar, drums and the keyboard, Anubhooti’s music attempts to present Indian music in its pure and popular form.
Believing only in what sounds good, Anubhooti does not restrict itself to any particular form, genre or era of music. The journey has just begun and there is so much to explore - to recreate and possibly to create something new some day.
Anubhooti is a confluence; Anubhooti is energy; Anubhooti is a whole new experience unto itself!

Once again, we shall soon be uploading some of our recordings and possibly videos at this blog. And as far as coming up with a CD/Album is concerned, to be honest, we never ever thought about it. But with so many of you asking for it, I think we should definitely give it some thought.
To start with, we promise to upload (in the next fortnight) the recording of one of our very first original composition and would be looking forward to your feedbacks. And let's move from there.....

@Swati--Thanks a lot...all we can say is, we are EXTREMELY HONORED after reading your comment. Our heart felt thanks to your room-mate. We promise that we will always do our best to put-up a pure heart-felt performance...
I would recommend making an orkut or facebook group just to keep track of your fan following! It might be easier! The group could be a place where there would be constant updates and people would get those updates as opposed to always coming to the blog! They could be led to the blogs through the group if they have been updated!
You guys might already have this, but I just thought of it! If you guys think, it is a good idea! I can make one for you! :) Especially looking at your fan base since the past 2 days...it might be a good idea! :)

Dear Mahika,
Many thanks for going all the way and thinking of such wonderful ideas for us! It is indeed a brilliant idea. We had always wanted to keep the conversation and interaction between us and our audience not just restricted to the performances, but even beyond that. The blog was the first step to achieve the goal and your idea adds another dimension to it.
The only request we have (and a very sincere one) is that it would be extremely embarrassing for us if you would call yourself our fan. We are nowhere even close to be worthy of such an honor, though we truly appreciate your heartfelt admirations for us. However, we always welcome 'friends' who share our interest in music and constantly encourage us to keep moving ahead and getting better. So, we would suggest to name such group/community as "Anubhooti friends' club" or "Anubhooti friends" or something like that, which will be an ideal forum for us to interact and have fun. Hope you get the idea.
There's another friend and admirer of ours who has also requested for a similar thing. So, let's do this. How about you create the community/group on facebook and let our other friend make a similar such thing on orkut!
Thanks and Regards,
Anubhooti
